Hi All! Today, I am sharing a variation of the yoghurt dessert recipe I had posted earlier. This one is quicker to make and even more delicious! The ladyfingers (savoyard biscuits – ‘savoiardi’ in Italian) cause a taste explosion in the mouth making you forget you’re eating yoghurt as it tastes like chilled cake! The biscuits soak up the excess liquid from the yoghurt/sugar mix fully after 24 hours and it turns into something magical. You just have to try it!
1 kg of Greek yoghurt (10% fat)
400gr (1 can) of sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons of icing sugar
100 gr of lady fingers (savoyard biscuits)
a sprinkle of salt
grated chocolate or small chocolate shapes to sprinkle on top
Place the yoghurt, the milk, the icing sugar and the salt in a big bowl.
Important: Mix GENTLY using an egg whisker. If you use force or if you use an electric mixer, the mix will be runny. For the same reason, use only 10% fat yoghurt and not low fat.
Cut the lady fingers in small chunks and add them to the mix. Stir well and pour into 1 or two containers with a lid.
Sprinkle chocolate shapes on top, such as the ones you see in the photo, or grate some cooking chocolate.
Place in the fridge and enjoy the next day once the lady fingers have fully absorbed the liquid.
Hope your spoons are heat resistant as they’re likely to catch fire in your family’s hands, LOL! 🙂
Note: I tried freezing this, and it’s very nice in the heart of summer to have instead of ice cream. But I do prefer it served from the fridge as the taste is better!
