Today, I am thrilled to share the link to my last newsletter where you will find a plethora of free books, plus, all about the wonderful day I spent in Thessaloniki (Salonica) in the north of Greece. The sights and the landmarks are many and diverse in this city and the whole experience enthralling!
Salonica is the co-capital of my country, a city of vast and diverse history dating from Roman/Byzantine times, and also from the Turkish Occupation. The beautiful monuments that survive to this day help to bring the past to life, attesting to some of the most harrowing occupations of the city in the past, and some are painting a picture of really grim colours.
The city was furthermore wounded by fires and earthquakes but still stands strong. Today, it is a stunning, vibrant city that attracts enthused tourists from all over the world.
Thessaloniki is famous for its gastronomy too. So many popular hangouts all over the city that it’s hard to choose, and they all have dedicated patrons that return again and again there, if only for the amazing sweets and desserts. But beware! You have to order them right!
