Interview with Elle Boca, fantasy author of the Unelmoija Series

Today, I’m delighted to welcome the promising fantasy author, Elle Boca. Both published books of her Unelmoija series are being received well by readers, getting glowing, 5 star reviews.  Join me as I ask Elle some questions, to find out more about her and her writing.

In book two of the Weeia series, Unelmoija: The Mindshifter, Amy’s courage is put to the test. The Weeia, others like her who live extra long lives and have superhuman abilities, will not get involved in human affairs, even to save lives. Will her new found allies, human and Weeia, help her? What of Duncan, her love interest? What will become of Amy if she’s captured? Who is the half demented man torn between killing and hugging her? Who are the Weeia?

The Weeia (pronounced way-yah) are similar to you or me in most ways, except that they have superhuman abilities and live long lives. Fearing humans, they live hidden among us. Your neighbor, banker, boss or doctor, even a person you’ve known all your life could be Weeia. Their super abilities vary by type and strength. They fall into four main categories: Emotional, Material, Mental, and Temporal.

Sounds intriguing, I must say! Describe your workstation to us. Are there any favourite objects you have there for inspiration?

A cluttered desk with a large screen monitor, three small stuffed animals who egg me on when I’m sluggish, and a water view for inspiration.

Do you listen to music while you write and if so, what kind?

I need quiet to write. When I take a break, music is a pleasure I enjoy. The kind varies with my mood.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

All the superpowers in one superpower 😉

What were your most and least favourite subjects in school?

That was a long time ago, in another galaxy. I think History and Biology were favs and Physics and Math less so.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learnt so far in life the hard way?

That I can only change myself!

Choose one person in your life to whom you can tell almost anything without fear of judgment.

My husband. He’s a wonderful, kindred soul.

If you could choose another profession, other than the one you are in, which would you choose?

There are so many intriguing occupations! Perhaps in another life I would be a doctor.

What are the things in your life that you’re most grateful for?

Good health, a wonderful husband, and the presence of mind to appreciate both.

How would you like to be remembered?

Any way they choose!
